I’ve just finished looking at my tracking results for the

last month for several safelists I use and you may find

the results valuable in your promotion of 12SC.

What’s good about safelists, and what’s not so good?

The Good:

1) Safelists are one of the common places some of  the people

we are looking for hang out – new and intermediate level people

wanting to make money online.

2) They are inexpensive to advertise on. Free if you’re

prepared prepared to spend time clicking on other people’s

emails to build up free advertising credits you can use to

show your offers to other members.

3) They do produce results. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t

gain more members and affiliates from them.

4) They are a good place to learn how to write headlines and

quick ad copy that compels a positive response

The not so good:

1) Some of then are almost useless, a waste of time and money

- returning less than 0.1% clickthrough rates (that’s as

low as 1 click in 1000 emails sent! Notice that’s not new

members, that’s just clicks, new members will be lower again.)

2) While not difficult, there are some very definite skills

you need to learn about how to get set up properly, and how

to get the very best out of them. And that’s what we want

isn’t it – results, great results!

Even if you’re clicking for free credits, instead of buying

them, we don’t want to be spending half a day surfing and

getting lousy results..

So how do you get superb results – lots of signups?

Here’s a few tips that have worked well for me:

1) Learn to write headlines that attract interest.

2) Write very short ads – 1 to five lines only.

3) Use some color in the ad to attract attention.

4) Practice makes perfect, but ………..

5) Most importantly – you have to know what’s working, and

how well it’s working to be able to change what isn’t, or

to improve what is. So you have to track everything – the

headline, the ad copy, the use of colour etc.

Now you can track the number of clicks you’re getting by

using the ad tracker in 12SC, and you should, but there’s

an even better way. Much better because it tracks

EVERYTHING, headline effectiveness, how good your ad body is,

saves you a huge amount of valuable time as well, and allows

you to constantly improve your headlines and ad copy until

you get excellent results.

I test all my pages initially in Safelists as a quick and

easy way to know for sure how good they are using a

superb utility I couldn’t do without now.

Grab it – it makes it sooo easy to post to safelists, and

tracks the results from each of them individually,

saving/making you a a lot of money in the long run.

I couldn’t do without it, and it provides great stats to

pass on to your members.

For example my top SafeList, has a clickthrough of 6.08%

and my worst (which, based on it’s reputation, I took a

$97 annual subscription out for before I had this utility.

<frown>) is only 0.01%!!! Also I found out my favorite,

but untracked, page only did only half as well as

next one I tested and tracked. Very valuable information,

saving me hundreds of dollars over time.

Use it to track your advertising on safelists for a while

and you’ll soon see how well it does the job, and how it

will enable you to become a safelist superstar!

Here’s my rule of thumb in deciding if I will use any particular advertising supplier for any substantial investment (time or money) to get sign-ups to my free Make Your First Dollar Online guide – if I’m not happy with anything, I walk away with my hard earned cash intact:

1) Do they have a manned phone number I can call
2) When I phoned – were they helpful and responsive
3) The innocent wee question I asked via their support form – was it quickly and helpfully answered?

If all is go, I commit to a *trial* run.

I use the ad tracker in my tool suite to run at least 1000 exposures through. It tells me how many hits I got, but more importantly how many of those signed up to get my guide, and calculates the cost per sign-up. <<<<<< – this is the make or break for me.

You have to test! All else is just opinion and / or guesswork.

A recent example: I found a advertising supplier being well spoken about in a forum, they had a phone, nice lady, great answers to some leading questions, asked a question through their support form, quick answer, all looked good as per 1) to 3) above, paid $25 for a months subscription to start a trial run of the service.

Set up my ad tracking for this test in my ad tracker in my tools suite – and away went the trial – of several thousand exposures of an ad that pulls 46.25% conversions for me elsewhere.

28 days later —– hits Zero!! and, obviously, conversions zero.

I immediately canceled before the renewal for the coming month.

So.. what can be learned from this little tale?

Yes, do the checks 1) to 3) above, but then track and test.

Testing and tracking will save you a fortune over time. Lets assume, as I have with various others of the scores of places I advertise, I had stuck with that advertiser for a year.

I would have wasted $300, yet my tracker (and it’s only one of the 13 online tools services included in the suite) costs only $9 a month.

So….. by having, as all should, a professional online tools suite, on this one trial alone I saved over $200

For success online you have to have online tools, and you have to track and test everything – be it banners, ads, ppc, even your sigs from forums etc.

How else will you ever know where best to put your valuable time and / or money.
