A damaged office, power outages, polluted drinking water, helping others etc have all had their impact,. Most of the time it’s been tricky to spend greater than one or 2 hours a day engaged on the business.

While frustrating many times, this process has been a great teacher for me.

When you understand what your most important and profitable duties are, you can work at cutting away the fat, reducing the tasks that are wasting your time and your energy, and having more of your day to spend enjoying your life.

Give it a shot when you get a chance. Possibly even test yourself by choosing a day that you’ll work only 2 hours and see what, by default, you find yourself doing. Or in case you’re not that game, simply make a list of what you DO do on a normal day and go through rating the duties by their level of contribution to your profits.

Don’t forget the large contribution of having the right tools to automate, or at least reduce, the time needed to do the important tasks in your business. Some of the ones I simply could not do without are:

I can take any article, hit one button and speedily have a perfectly well re-written article ready to post to my blogs, article directories etc that I can be proud to put my name too.

These three tools have almost certainly reduced the time it takes me to do the essential, profit producing, tasks in my business by around 30% and I recommend each of them highly.

When I say “link text”, I mean the underlined blue text in the link. For instance, if I had a link to my blog, the link text would be “my blog”.

Google sees links from another site to your site as a “vote” for your site to rank for the keywords found in the link text. They see it as an indication that your site is worth visiting in the eyes of the webmaster who chose to link to you. Get lots of “votes” from lots of sites for your chosen search terms and Google figures your site must be valuable and should appear in the results for those keywords.

Of course, there’s a bit more to it than that (which you will discover by downloading the free ebook GeekFreeSEO from HERE), but that’s SEO in a nutshell. Links are king. Get lots of links and you’ll rank well.
