About a year ago I stumbled on Jennifer’s (PotpieGirl’s) training on how to set up free one page websites at Squidoo (they call them Lenses), and how to do the all important keyword research to make sure they ranked high in Google’s search results.
I quickly learned the advantages of using Squidoo’s free services:
- Squidoo is free, and that’s always good
- Squidoo already ranks high in Google. Smart people use this to piggyback their lenses on.
- Squidoo’s lenses can be indexed quickly by Google – you start to show up quickly.
- You can get paid for putting up lenses.
- Making a lens is so simple an idiot can do it. I proved that!
Anyway the bottom line of this story is that 4 days later, after only a few hours effort on my part, my lens was on page one of Google’s search results, and the first sales were rolling in, as they continue to do so right up to this day, some 12 months later.
Now….. a big hint for you. If you want explosive results through the free traffic Google can provide, it’s all about visibility. There is absolutely no point at all in putting up a website, blog, whatever if no-one is going to see it. What Squidoo does is get the ‘visibility job’ well and truly started for you in a quick and easy manner.
