Before going any further, the first thing we need to do is answer the question: What is search engine optimization? Search engine optimization, known as SEO by those who practice it, is simply the steps it takes to have your web site show up in the results returned by Google, Yahoo and Bing (formerly MSN) whenever people search for something. Get lots of links to your page whose link text contains the keywords you want to rank for.
So, for instance, if you want to be number one when somebody searches Google for the keywords “porch swings”, get lots and lots of links to your site that contain “porch swings” in the link text. When I say “link text”, I mean the underlined blue text in the link. For instance, if I had a link to my blog, the link text would be “my blog”.
Google sees links from another site to your site as a “vote” for your site to rank for the keywords found in the link text. They see it as an indication that your site is worth visiting in the eyes of the webmaster who chose to link to you. Get lots of “votes” from lots of sites for your chosen search terms and Google figures your site must be valuable and should appear in the results for those keywords.
Of course, there’s a bit more to it than that (which you will discover by downloading the free ebook GeekFreeSEO from HERE), but that’s SEO in a nutshell. Links are king. Get lots of links and you’ll rank well. But before you ever get a single link to your web site, there’s some research that has to be done to make sure you’re efforts to rank for a given set of keywords aren’t wasted.

Let me talk briefly about the power of using ‘Duplication’ in 12SC.
Duplication in a 3 tier affiliate marketing program is the factor that will take
a good business, and blast it right into orbit. Think about this for a moment:
Just imagine if you bring in 5 upgraded members. Nice commissions for you. And a good base to your business to extend out from using any of several very effective, and free, methods as I outline in my ‘Your Free Traffic Magnets‘ Guide.
Now expand your imagination to include what will happen for you, and all
the other members in your business if you teach them to do the same.

When duplication takes place and excitement grows as everyone makes good
money, and teaches the methods to others.
So the formula for success is:
1) Introduce 5 frontline members (minimum)
2) Teach each of them to do the same.
3) Teach them to teach THEIR new members.

expand your business from that point by bringing in 100′s, even thousands,
of willing buyers to view your offers each month.
5) Take lots of extended holidays <grin>
In 12SC we are blessed, perhaps over supplied, by the amount of

A short story.
About a year ago I stumbled on Jennifer’s (PotpieGirl’s) training on how to set up free one page websites at Squidoo (they call them Lenses), and how to do the all important keyword research to make sure they ranked high in Google’s search results.

Anyway the bottom line of this story is that 4 days later, after only a few hours effort on my part, my lens was on page one of Google’s search results, and the first sales were rolling in, as they continue to do so right up to this day, some 12 months later.
