What’s the priority?

In 12SC we are blessed, perhaps over supplied, by the amount of
superb training we can take advantage of. However, as several of my
team have pointed out, you can’t attend all of it around the time
left over after the job, family and other commitments and still have
time left for the all important task of making money in
our 12 Second Commute businesses.

So the question they’ve asked is “What’s the priority? What’s the
most important training to attend and why?”

To some extent the answer depends on where you are in your Internet
career and on the major strategy you’re using to get targeted
visitors to view your offer (ie if your major push is SEO you
should try to attend Jim Roche’s training on Wednesday evenings).

However one training stands head and shoulders above all others
in in order of importance, no matter how experienced, or
inexperienced you are.

“And which one is that Allan?”

The absolute priority to attend is the live and very interactive
training the owner of 12SecondCommute, Darryl Graham, does every
Tuesday at 9:30PM Eastern for about an hour, and these are the
reasons why:

1) It’s the place to hear ‘from the horses mouth’ the latest

A short story.

4) Make a schedule to put an hour aside at any time that
works for you and post your ad on the safelists once per
day, preferably 7 days a week. If you’re short on cash to
buy credits for the safelists you need to use some of the
hour to look at other peoples advertising to earn credits,
and the Survival Guide will tell you the most effective
ways to do this.

Don’t forget to include the link that will take them to
your capture page in the safelists ‘credit link’ area.

5) That link will take them to your capture page where
they will subscriber to your newsletter series, then
automatically be redirected to 12SC to sign up for their

A lot of affiliates are looking for instant income — big checks at
that. That’s simply not very realistic. I’m not saying it couldn’t
happen. Oprah could mention your blog on her show and you’d be
flooded with traffic.

I’ve been on the web for over 4 years. I’ve got high traffic sites and
large email lists but that didn’t happen overnight. They were built up
one day at a time.

To make the most in this business, you need to prepare for the long
haul. I do have a very nice residual income and much of that is due
to the groundwork I laid years ago.

Resolve to do what has to be done, daily and weekly. A great saying
I learned early in my journey to freedom was ‘I will do today what
others won’t do, so that I can have tomorrow what others can’t have’

Place those ads, attend the trainings, develop a great working
relationship with the most successful of your introducing members,
take advice and act on it.

Always be building your list. Always!

Build the money that will enhance your life for ever. Build your
12SecondCommute business and develop your residuals! Know
from me you are in the right business, at the right time.

If you have a website or a blog, set a goal of adding at least a page
or posting to it at least once a week, if not every day. Even if it
is just a weekly update, in 3 years you would have over 300 pages
(and entry points) to your site. If you added just one page a day,
then you would have over 1,000 pages!!!

I’m still making affiliate income on pages I put up years ago,
lists I’ve grown over years. Even sites I’ve more or less forgotten
about!

And the same goes for affiliates who made sales pages for my ebooks
years ago and haven’t touched them since.

Don’t get frustrated if you are new to the game and haven’t made
much since you got started. The smart (and rich) affiliates are
the ones who think in terms of years, not weeks.

Before Using Safelists: A basic setup guide.

Safelists are a common starting place for people as they head out to
make their early commissions, and they have the advantage that they are
also the place other ‘make money’ newbies can also be found.

While they are not the most productive place to advertise, they do produce
results for 12SecondCommute and have the additional advantage of being free
to join. However, don’t start using them until you set a few basic things
in place as I will indicate below or you will will be flooded with a
gazillion return emails!

Setting Up Your Email Accounts

The basic principle behind safelists is that advertisers get together and agree
to receive email ads from each other. Therefore you can expect a lot of email
especially when you start using a lot of different lists. So under NO
circumstance should you use your main email account when you sign up for
safelists.

I use and recommend Gmail (Google Mail) it’s the best solution for safelists
and it is free. Don’t bother using some of the other free email accounts
such as Yahoo, AOL or Hotmail their spam filters will only bring you
headaches when using safelists (actually many safelist wont allow them).
Using Gmail is also the foundation for advanced tactics you can move on
to later.

You will need two email accounts, one as your contact address and one
where you will receive the actual safelist emails. So create two Gmail
accounts and name them something that you can easily remember e.g.
SafelistContact@gmail.com and
SafelistEmails@gmail.com

Joining Your Safelists

Now that you have your email accounts set up it is time to start joining some
safelists. There are thousands of safelists on the market but 90% of them are
utter rubbish. Until you have your own testing and evaluation system in place
I recommend that you focus solely on the safelists in Affiliate Funnel
It’s free to join and these safelists are proven performers and won’t waste your time.

Trust me – more is not merrier, you get far better results from consistently
posting to the top 10 safelists in the Affiliate Funnel than you will from
sporadic bursts to a a swarm of small lists, or any of the other thousands
out there.

When you join the safelists you will have to click a confirmation link, usually at
both your contact and list address. IMPORTANT: don’t delete the emails after
you have clicked the link, we want to keep them for the next step.

How to Set Up Your Gmail Labels

The labels and filtering options in Gmail are very useful when dealing with
safelists. Now that you have joined the safelists, you use the confirmation
emails they send you to set up your labels. I will use Adtactics as an example…

1. Open your Adtactics confirmation email in Gmail and click on “Show
details” in the header.

2. Mark the from email address and press Ctrl + C to copy

3. Click the “Create a filter” link next to the search boxes

4. Paste the email address (Ctrl + V) into the “From” field and press
“Next step”.

5. Check the “Apply Label” box and choose “New Label” in the drop
down menu.

6. Type in “Adtactics” as the name of the new label and press “Ok”.

7. Click on “Create filter”.

All email from Adtactics will now have this label applied and be filtered into
your Adtactics folder. Follow the steps above to set up labels for all the
safelists both at your list and contact address. This is a huge time saver in the
long run and it will form the basis for some of the advanced tactics you will want
to move on to later.

OK, that’s very basic but enough to get you started and to insure you’re set up
for more advanced Safelist tactics further on down the track. If you want to get

Traffic Exchanges – what’s best to use in them?

The answer is *always* use a splash page in Ta’s
- keep it short and simple and make it open in a new window.
Don’t ’sell’ here, all it has to do is get the clickthrough to your CP.

A strong, attention grabbing, headline with maybe 4-5 bullet points of benefits for the reader and that’s about it.

Remember – you only have maybe two seconds at most to grab enough
attention to get the click

For personal branding you could add your pic and name at the bottom if you
want – make it a less important feature than the points above

The CP needs only to warm them up enough to get their details. Your email
messages and the 12SC main page should do the selling.

Your splash page then, when clicked, will open up to your capture page in a
new window, which allows the surfer to continue surfing uninterrupted, and
come back to your capture page when he/she finishes surfing.

As a broke, but excited, newbie marketer when I first started online I quickly joined everyone else who where using safelists as a way of getting my offers in front of people without having to having to lay a lot of money down.

If you’re new and / or short of cash I recommend them as a good place to get started – after you learn how to use them.

Basically they’re very simple. You read the email ads of other members and by doing so you gain credits that let you send your offers out to them in return.

The advantages of safelists are:

* Free membership – although you get very useful additional
benefits by upgrading

* Better results than Traffic Exchanges – if you use them properly

* Great for gaining subscribers to your List

* Faster results than Traffic Exchanges – if you set them up
correctly

* Ads read mostly by new online marketers – particularly the Make
Money Online crowd

The disadvantages of Safelists are:

Using splashpages in Traffic Exchange For The Best Results

I strongly recommend you use a splash page in any Traffic Exchange you may be using.

Think of a recent billboard you recently saw while driving. A billboard usually has an eye-catching image or picture or a strong headline, a couple of simple statements and a simple call to action. Plus a billboard is usually on a highly traveled roadway.

Well, a splash page is no different. You want to stand out from all the other sites rotating in a traffic exchange. A long winded sales page or an affiliate page are not effective in traffic exchange. You only have a few seconds to grab a surfers attention.

That is why we furnish you a number of splash pages to advertise in other traffic exchanges.

A splash page needs a strong headline with your photo or image. Two to three points about your offer and a short simple call to action. Examples of a call to action are ‘Grab your membership here!’, ‘Join Today’ or ‘Click Here’.

Although there are differing opinions, my testing has shown that you should not have an email optin form on your splash page. Instead have a link which opens to a new page (a capture or squeeze page) which does have the optin form on it. You want to entice them to click your call to action to take them to your sales page, affiliate page, squeeze page or a join page.

If you are unable to create your own splash pages use those furnished by a program.

Just like those billboards you will want your splash pages or squeeze pages in traffic exchanges that deliver lots of quality traffic.
